The Cruise Control Switch is called ASCD (Automatic Speed Control Device) switch and is bracketed on top of the brake pedal, which works the brake lights when the pedal is pressed and switches off the cruise control. To test the brake light switch, look at the brake lights and determine if they light up when the brake pedal is depressed and go off once the brake pedal is released. If the brake lights do not come on or the cruise control does not cancel out, verify that the brake pedal is set right prior to changing the switch. To adjust, the switch needs to be turned counter-clockwise 45 degrees, the brake needs to be pulled back while pressing the switch until the thread pushes the switch back to its limit. Secure the position of the switch by turning the latter in the 45 degrees clockwise manner to the targeted position and to ensure there is correct clearance between the threaded body of the switch and the pedal bracket. For replacement, first you have to disconnect the electrical connector from the switch, then you rotate the connector anti-clockwise by 45 and then pull up to release the switch. The process of installation is performed inversely to the removal process; then the height of the brake pedal and the switch have to be set or adjusted.

To check the brake light switch, observe whether the brake lights illuminate when the pedal is pressed and turn off when released.
