  Q: How do you remove the front and rear bumper covers, and access the active grille shutter on Nissan Rogue?

  A: To remove the front bumper cover, first raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Next, remove the fasteners along the top edge of the Grille and bumper cover, followed by the screws at the front edge of the inner fender splash shield. Then, take off the fasteners for the engine undercover and the upper screws from the front bumper cover at the front fender. Carefully pull the outboard edge of the front bumper fascia away from the vehicle to disengage it from the bumper side retainer, and disconnect the fog light harness connector if equipped. After that, remove the front bumper cover and the fog light assembly if equipped, then disengage the clips to remove the bumper energy absorber and radiator air guides. Finally, remove the retaining pins at the lower edge, the bolts, and the bumper reinforcement, followed by the bumper side retainers from the front fender, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear bumper cover, open the liftgate and remove the taillight housings, then disengage the clips and remove the rear fender protector if equipped. Remove the upper fasteners of the rear bumper cover from both sides, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the rear splash shield fasteners and splash shield from the corner of the wheel opening. Next, remove the rear bumper upper corner fasteners and lower fasteners, then pull the rear bumper cover rearward away from the vehicle and remove it. After that, remove the energy absorbing plastic from the rear bumper reinforcement, followed by the bolts and the rear bumper reinforcement itself, and release the pawls to remove the rear bumper side retainer from both sides, with installation being the reverse of removal. To access the active grille shutter, first remove the front bumper cover, then disconnect the electrical connectors from the active shutter grill module. Use a trim tool to disengage the retaining clip for the ambient temperature sensor, moving the harness and sensor out of the way, and remove the active grill mounting bolts along the bottom of the grille to take off the assembly, with installation being the reverse of removal.
